Capitol Hill Book Store

Wow! What a place. It's a house turned store (like most historic residents in parts of DC) filled with book shelves. Extremely disorderly, but that's what added character. All sections were marked off by handmade signs, and books were arranged on shelves of all shapes and sizes.

- the language section was in the bathroom
- the business closet

I could have walked out of there with hundreds, but I chose to limit myself to three. I will definitely visit again, but for now I have some reading to catch up on!

Bill Bryson certainly knows how turn ordinary encounters to a story. Quirky, funny and educational, "In a Sunburned Country" is an unexpectedly fast read. Bryson gives insight to many of Australia's known - and unknown - wonders, and makes you want to book the next flight to the land down under.

Stoked for my visit - 9 days and counting!

BUSN499: brainstorm a possible start-up

Business plan to brainstorm: create a clothing line attractive to young political activists and utilize social media marketing.

Below is prototype 1 for a possible product to sell via social media venues. All profits from this product would be donated to the Human Rights Campaign. 

Design compliments to Kevin Oliveira - we will continue to adjust the product and we hope to have the design complete by the next week.

Finance Explained: Hedge Funds

Goal: Read 40 pages a day

I'm currently reading No Direction Home by Robert Shelton. I was influenced to learn more about Bob Dylan after I read Steve Jobs by Walter Isaacson - Steve was a huge Dylan fan! I am also reading Why Australia Prospered by Ian McLean. This summer I am attending a study abroad business delegation in Melbourne and Sydney, Australia. Preparation is imperative.
